plants insects and animals speak to you you just don’t know how to listen
humans are arrogant and expect everything around them to learn THEIR language. the truth is that the earth and its creatures speak in energy. they have communicated this way long before we were here and they will continue to long after we’re gone. the energy in these messages is palpable when you open yourself up to it. the most important things can be said without any words
There is nothing by itself bad with stylizing female characters so they look bigger or are hairy, if anything I want more female characters who are big and hairy.
The ISSUE is when women of colour are portrayed as borderline animalistic big creatures and white girls are more human and allowed to be petite and pretty.
You can do diversity without dehumanizing WoC and butchness or implying femeninity can only be white.
Through challenging camera angles Menno Aden abstracts most familiar actual living environments and public interiors into flattened two-dimensional scale models. A camera that the artist installed on the ceiling of various rooms takes pictures downwards of the interiors. The resulting images lay out space in symmetrical compositions that look like assemblages stripped off any kind of objectivity. The views into private homes and secret retreats bring up associations of the ubiquitous observation camera. The notion of surveillance is systematically played out by the artist to hint at society’s voyeuristic urge that popular culture has made mainstream.

Like, when Entrapta first appeared I was so worried someone would be mean to her because of her hyper-interests and distractability and that it would be presented as ok but to my memory that hasn't happened and I'm releaved. falling-red-petals
perfuma dealt with the brunt of entrapta’s distractability, and while she was visibly annoyed, she didn’t lash out at entrapta directly or do anything mean to her.
she tried her best to work with entrapta, which i appreciated. she could have easily said, “entrapta is impossible to work with”, but instead she said, “teamwork with entrapta can be a challenge”, redirecting the focus onto the concept of teamwork rather than entrapta.
she took on the same approach earlier, redirecting her frustration away from entrapta directly by choosing her words carefully.
when entrapta jeopardized the mission yet again, perfuma finally snapped. i can’t say i blame her, honestly. she held out for quite a while, and the situation was literally life-or-death.
and then, of course, she was the one who shouted out for entrapta, looking genuinely terrified.
given perfuma’s reaction to entrapta’s “death”, either a) perfuma felt guilty for even being annoyed at entrapta, even though she never yelled at her directly; b) perfuma was actually fond of entrapta despite her frustrations.
i hope it’s more attributed to the latter. they have potential to be adorable friends once entrapta realizes that she hadn’t been abandoned by them.
basically, perfuma clearly makes a genuine effort to be understanding and polite, which is good to see.
